We are in great need of upgrading our laundry facilities. Last year we washed over 1150 bags of washing for our guests and because we only have a domestic washing machine, it’s useful life is fast coming to an end. We are presently washing over 40 loads per week but due to the location of the machine, we can’t get access to it while our guests are taking a shower.
We have investigated how we may improve the facility but the only space available is in the basement, which is presently occupied by a large defunct heating oil tank. We have just launched an appeal to remove the oil tank and to then install an industral quality washing machine that meets our needs for the homeless. The total cost for this refurbishment is around £16,400.
